Fall Reset

Jersey City

September 13, 2024

Hi There!

Fall isn’t officially here for about another week but there has been a shift in the weather. And looking out of my window I can see the tops of the trees starting to change color.

I’ve always believed that the new year should start in September and not in January. Afterall, September is a time of beginnings and fresh starts. It’s the perfect time for a reset.

I suggest you take a breath and lean into fall. Is there something that you do to mark the transition? Maybe you change your nail color or get a facial or have that first pumpkin latte. What’s your fall thing? Reply to this email and let me know. I’ll share it in the next newsletter. If this isn’t something you normally think about, here are some things I do to welcome in the fall, which BTW is my favorite season!

· Change my nail color from pink to ruby red. Fall is much more dramatic than summer!

· Change my bed linens and switch out my light blanket for a heavy quilt.

· Go through summer my clothes and give away anything that never left my closet.

· Buy 1 or 2 new fall pieces.

· Choose a date to go apple picking.

· Buy a planner for the next year

· And switch out my summer recipes for fall recipes.

I think it’s just as important to switch meals as it is to switch out wardrobes. Visit the Farmer’s Market and get inspired by the fall produce. Look for Brussel sprouts, root vegetables like carrots, parsnips, beets, leeks and celery root and winter squashes, cabbage and cauliflower, and of course apples and pears.

If you need help with switching your meal plan from summer to fall, let me know. I offer a 7-day customized meal plan. It comes with a shopping list and a consultation. You can purchase it here or if you have questions, you can schedule a call with me.

Have a great week and don’t forget to let me know what you’re doing to transition into fall.

Be well,

Laura

· This summer I did some reading but not as much as I usually do. I was preoccupied with setting up my new apt and I couldn’t settle into a book. But now I’m ready to read again. On my nightstand are a couple of books that I started but didn’t finish. It’s time! I’m reading Horse by Geraldine Brooks (really good) and This is the Story of a Happy Marriage by Ann Patchett. I love anything by her. I’m looking forward to reading the new book by Amor Towles, Table for Two. If you haven’t read Rules of Civility by him, you’re in for a treat. Do you have any recommendations?
