Beyond Menopause Symptoms

Jersey City

February 7, 2025

Hi there!

Have you ever noticed that when you aren’t feeling well you just know that you’ll never feel well again? And then, as soon as you feel better, you forget about how awful you felt. It’s a strange phenomenon. I’m sure there’s some scientific explanation but whatever… It happens.

When you’re in perimenopause or menopause and you’re focusing on your symptoms and how awful you feel, take a breath and remember that this isn’t forever. Try forward thinking. Imagine yourself in six months or a year and see yourself as vibrant and healthy.

There are solutions to all your menopause symptoms. The first step is to talk to your doctor or a menopause specialist. BTW – I can help you work find a solution for your symptoms. Schedule a call.

Then you need to decide to “be well”. This is the part that’s often lacking from a menopause health protocol and it’s something that is extremely important and it’s something only you can do.

Being well goes beyond feeling physically healthy. It means being happy and satisfied with your life. It includes doing things you love and having a feeling of purpose.

Yes, you need to eat well and exercise and reduce your stress, but think beyond that.

I’m sure there’s something that you’ve dreamed about that got stuck on the back burner. Go for it!

Here’s a list to get you started. I’d really like to know what you come up with. Reply to this email and please share.

· Make a regular coffee date with a friend (or by yourself)

· Read all the books by one author (I once spent a summer reading Edith Wharton)

· Learn a language – Duolingo makes it fun

· Cook or bake something you’ve been wanting to try forever.

· Join a writing group (can be online)

· Learn to knit or crochet (Start small. Just make a scarf)

· Take a drawing or painting class

· Volunteer for an organization you believe in

· Schedule regular massages or mani-pedis.

· Buy yourself fresh flowers (because they make you happy)

It’s February and love is in the air. Show yourself some love. Make wellness part of your wellness plan.

Be well,

Laura
